She was an angel when she danced.
Too bad she attracted the attention of the devil.
She was so innocent and naïve.
Not meant for the cruel realities of this world.
Certainly not meant for someone unworthy.
But every time she floated across the stage, I knew she danced only for me.
Watching her wasn’t enough…
My Prima became the light to the dark.
She was mine, and it was time everyone realized it.
I seized my piece of heaven, and to hell with the consequences.

Lita T’s Review: 5 Stars

Prima by Alta Hensley is the story of Clara. She was the toast of the New York ballet scene. Clara however was out of control.  She was drinking to much, doing to much drugs and having mindless sex. When she ends up with Nickolas the head of the Bratva she knows her life is truly out of control. Walking off stage and starting a new life is her way of getting her life back. 4 years later teaching dance out of her garage and taking care of her grandmother is her life now. Alek comes into her life offering a chance to  dance again. Him and his brother have a reputable ballet company. The chemistry between Clara and Alek is off the charts. Clara and Alek know they shouldn’t be together. When they are together the sex is rough, hot and kinky. They like getting each other dirty and I would like to get dirty with them. As Clara is dancing better than ever and has a chance to dance again in New York, a dangerous blast from her past shows up. This is where this story got rough for me. If I thought reading through my fingers would have helped I would have done it. Gritty and rough. I was definitely scared for Clara times. A dark twisted story with a happy ending.  Just like I love it. Throw in the mob and I am all in. This story had me hooked from the beginning to the end. Loved Alek and Clara. A 5 star read for me.

Tanya Rae’s rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

Prima is a standalone and is Clara Simyoneva and Alexei “Alek” Volkov’s story. Clara’s life had gotten out of control so she walked away from the Ballet company she had been dancing for and just disappeared. She is barely making ends meet but she is paying for her mistakes.

Alexei and his brother Yuri now own Volkov Ballet which they inherited from their now deceased mother. They want Clara, well mostly Alexei wants her, Yuri thinks she will be too much to bother with.

I enjoyed reading Prima. Clara and Alexei’s chemistry together was certainly steamy. I loved how much Clara loves her Babushka (grandmother) and the loving and care that she demonstrates for her. Knowing that Clara couldn’t have been all bad. Of course we find out why Clara really did walk away from ballet.

I love reading Alta Hensley’s books and I fell in love with her Top Shelf series and have been hooked since. This is the first book that I have read by Maggie Ryan and they certainly made this book interesting and enjoyable! 4.5 stars
