The first time I saw Hamilton, he was balls deep in one of the bridesmaids at my mother’s wedding.
He was lethal. Handsome. Cruel. Twisted.
I was drawn to him like fists to glass. We had an angry sort of relationship. There was nothing kind about the broken man that stole my heart and crushed it in his fist. He was all sharp edges. One touch could ruin me. One kiss could end our happy little family.
When my mother married Joseph Beauregard, son of the governor of Connecticut, I never imagined I’d fall in love with my stepfather’s younger brother. I never imagined I’d uncover the truth about his family’s bloody legacy.
Hamilton escaped with scars to his name and a ruined reputation. And now? I wanted out, too. I guess the scandal of our relationship was the least of our family’s problems.
Bastards and Scapegoats by Coralee June
Tanya Rae’s rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
Bastards and Scapegoats is the first book in the Twisted Legacy Duet. This is Hamilton Beauregard and Vera Garner’s story. Hamilton’s brother, Joseph (Hamilton’s brother) married Vera’s mother. Making Hamilton Vera’s step uncle.
Both Hamilton and Vera are a little broken, maybe that is why they gravitate to each other. And from the blurb I bet you guessed that Hamilton is the black sheep of his family.
There are jaw dropping moments and some twists that I didn’t see coming. I enjoyed reading this taboo/forbidden romance. I found I had a couple of jaw dropping moments and there are also some twists to the story that I didn’t see coming.
Now I can’t wait until February 2021 because that is when Thorn’s and Forgiveness, the conclusion to Hamilton and Vera’s story. 4.5 Stars
