Bettina’s Book Review: 5 STARS

Wow!!! Finished Dark Queen in one sitting. I could not put it down. I was cheering for Alyssa and Luca the whole time. The chemistry between them was hot and I liked they didn’t instantly fall into bed together. I also enjoyed the suspense of all the drama surrounding Luca. I never knew what was going to happen never or who was going to be attacked. This book really kept me on my toes. Alyssa is strong willed and has a backbone. I love her character. Luca Luca Luca!!! Well damn, I think he just became one of my top ten favorite men. He stays calm under pressure and protects what’s his. Can we please have more of him? Dark King has a nice ring for book 2! My only complaint about this book is that I wish Luca and Alyssa had more time together. That she could have opened up more about herself so that he could see that she really deserved that title of Dark Queen. All in all I highly recommend this book to others. I promise you will not regret reading it!

Dark Queen by Ker Dukey is a fabulous story about Alyssa Phoenix who lives on a small town farm with dreams of moving to the big city in order to follow her mother’s dream of being a ballerina. Inorder to fulfill her dreams she has to wait till her overbearing mother dies. A mother she has been caring for while her checked out father is in a world of his own. When she goes to the city to an open call to the Swan school she realizes she doesn’t have a chance but a chance meeting turns that all around when she meets Luca Leto head of a notorious organized crime family. The two have a spicy exchange. Alyssa has no idea how dangerous he is and she doesn’t care. The two both have a dark side that feeds their dark soul. The sexual tension between the two is enough to burn the city down. As Luca tries to deal with the murder of his main piece, his drunk of a brother, a dying father and his businesses, the last thing he needs is a sassy mouth 18 year old ballerina who makes him hard. When that sassy girl ends up working in one of his club his patience is really tested. He wants her but he doesn’t want to put her in danger. Their little game of cat and mouse is so cute and the interaction between the two is down right comical. Anyway Alyssa can definitely hold her own and she is no shrinking violet. Just as Luca is dark, ruthless and depraved and she is just as bad as he is. A match made in organized crime heaven. As everything unfold and we find out all the secrets and who is really behind all the stuff happening it just might be two late for these two. I couldn’t have guessed this the one who behind it all. Didn’t see that coming. Wow! I really enjoy this author’s stories. Read this in one sitting. Loved the characters, the premise and the storytelling style. 4.5 stars for me.

Dark Queen is a standalone and is Luca Leto and Alyssa Phoenix’s story. I had a hard time getting into this story but I am so happy that I stuck with it.
Started off slow but finished with a bang.

There was a climactic ending!!! Okay you will have to read this to know the dual meaning…. I very much enjoyed Dark Queen and can’t wait to read more from this author. 4 Stars
