The Lawyer (The Dalton Brothers #1) by Marni Mann is Dominick Dalton’s story. A hot shot LA entertainment lawyer and a confirmed bachelor Dalton is living the life. All the women falling at his feet. He is definitely a hit it and quit it type of guy. At a party he sees a beauty that has his libido jumping and he is circling in for the kill. One night stands are not Kendall’s thing but there is something about this guy that has her doing something she normally doesn’t do. After a night of wild passionate sex Kendall leaves her number. Being with him again is something she wants. However fates has different plans. As the personal assistant to her famous actress sister Kendall runs late into a meeting with her sister’s entrainment team only to see Dominick. He too wants another go with Kendall. But he as more important business for Kendall. Needing a fresh face for a reality show to help a friend out Dominick thinks Kendall would be perfect. He knows he can make her famous, make both of them lots of money and get her away from her narcissistic sister. There is just one problem. He likes his privacy and he doesn’t date his clients. Kendall is apprehensive about this opportunity. The money would help her pay off her bills but she knows how Dominick feels about dating. The two try to stay away from each other but the attraction is to strong and when he sees Kendall being put through the ringer by the celebrity gossip machine he has to step in to save her. I really like Dominick and Kendall. I also enjoy how this author tells a story. It had been awhile since I read anything by her and I didn’t realize how much I missed her storytelling. I was given the treat of the crossover of a character from another one her series which was also good. If you get the chance I recommend you read The Agency series. I give this book 4 stars and I am looking forward to the next brother.
