Devil’s Contract is book one in the Dark Pen series. This is Katja Belov and Dex Cohen’s story. Katja owns The Whitney, a premier hotel in NYC. She finds she is about to lose her hotel after her husband up and dies and leaves her in a world of debt.

She is forced to turn to Dex Cohen who had been dealing in illegal activities in her hotel. She kicked him out of the hotel. Now he is coming back. There will be a lot of changes when you make a bargain with the devil!

There are some twists and turns to their story. I loved reading this book and no cliffhanger!

I have enjoyed reading Alta Hensley’s books. I have read a number of them. This is the first that I have read by Livia Grant.  Great teamwork in writing this book! I loved it. 4.5 Stars

Oh as to what’s next. Dirty Ledger is coming in May another book co-written by these authors.

Katja is the owner of The Whitney, a prestigious hotel in New York City.  A pampered princess who when her philandering husband dies of a heart attack she finds herself about to lose her precious hotel. Dex is a criminal who use to live in The Whitney with Katja, whose fathers where in business together. However when the fathers were both deceased she put Dex out of the hotel. Now that her husband is dead Dex steps in to help her get over the scandal and the mess her husband made. There is just one problem. Katja has a hate/ lust relationship with Dex inspite of the fact they grew up together and their fathers were business partners. Her body lust after Dex but he is a criminal and she doesn’t want that type of element around her precious hotel. He knows she is in a bind. Katja will not accept help because she doesn’t want people to know her business so she has no choice. Dex sees an opportunity to get back into his beloved home. He can now get back in, restore the hotel to its formal glory and punish Katja. This is their story. Loved Dex but was so over Katja. Loved everything he did to her. In her defense she did think she was better than Dex and thought she could just get his money and treat him any old kind of way. Boy was she wrong. There was a twist at the end which I knew was coming.  Inspite of that and my disdain for Katja I give this story a 4. Dex was everything to me and this story.
