Devil’s Pawn (Devil’s Pawn Duet #1) by Natasha Knight. This is the story of Jericho St. James,  a Sovereign Son who lost his fiance at the hands of a Bishop. The Bishop’s are part of the original family of the Society. I thought Jericho’s seemed familiar. It was pointed out to me that he is in another of this author’s books. Since Jericho wants revenge for his fiance, he decides to take his nemesis half sister Isabelle. Again that sounded familiar which is like another of this author’s book about the Society. But do not fret. There is so much more to Jericho and Isabelle’s  story. Jericho is a grade a jerk. I would love to use stronger words to describe my disdain for Jericho. My heart goes out to Isabelle. There are so many secrets and trying to know who is telling the real truth or if they are leaving out some of the truth makes this story. I enjoy a good suspenseful story. The intrigue has me looking forward to the next book. I hope Jericho can redeem himself. There is a family secret that has me guessing as to what will be revealed. Than there is Jericho’s end game of revenge and  exactly how far will he go. By the end of this book, we got to see part of his plan. Poor Isabelle, she doesn’t know who to trust. So sheltered aka Jericho’s pawn. 4.5 star for me.
