Synopsis:

Mino r league player Stone Dumelin lost his younger brother when the Titansโ€™ team plane went down. He never expected the phone call that followed. After a shoulder injury put my NHL career on ice, I resigned myself to the fact Iโ€™d never see my way out of the minor league again. As my career faded, my estranged brotherโ€™s star shot into orbit as the first line left winger for the Pittsburgh Titans. But when the teamโ€™s plane crashed returning home one night, his light was snuffed out, and I was given the opportunity of a lifetime. Now Iโ€™m in Pittsburgh, playing for the Titans, and face – to – face with my dead brotherโ€™s ghost at every turn. His locker, his legacy, his persistent and annoyingly gorgeous attorney who wonโ€™t stop contacting me about his estate, e ven though Iโ€™ve demanded she leave me alone. Harlow Alston would be extremely appealing if she wasnโ€™t so aggravating. Only…thatโ€™s a complete lie. She pushes all the right buttons for me, and as much as I want her to quit pestering me about Brooksโ€™s estate , I find myself intrigued by the fiery redhead who canโ€™t take no for an answer. And the more I learn about Harlow, the more I find she might be the key to understanding who Brooks really was, and who I want to be. Iโ€™ve got a second shot at a career I thou ght Iโ€™d lost and the opportunity to build something real with Harlow, but can I find strength to move forward or will my past dictate my future?

Lita’s Book Review: 5 STARS

Stone (Pittsburgh Titans #2) by Sawyer Bennett.ย  Stone happens to be the older brother of Brooks one of the Pittsburgh Titans who was killed in the plane crash that took the hockey team. Now Stone finds himself getting called by the Titans from the minor league to the big league. This is a big deal considering he was once in the big league before a injury. Starting this new chapter in his life is tough especially when his brother died while they were estranged and also he is concerned that this opportunity was given to him because of his brother’s death instead of his skill. This was an extremely emotional story. Stone had so many demons he has to battle. When he discovers Harlow and her connection to his brother, Stone really goes into a tail spin. In addition to all the stress he now has to deal with a father who had all but cut him off after he was sent to the minors. There was so much to Stone and his story. We also got to see the downward spiral of Coen, the one Titan player who wasn’t on the plane the day it crashed. I am hoping his story is the next book in this series. Stone was 4.5 stars for me.

Stone (Pittsburgh Titans, #2)Stone by Sawyer Bennett
Tanya’s rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stone is the second book in this new spinoff Pittsburgh Titans. Each of these books can be read as a standalone but there is so much story to read about. This is Stone Dumelin and Harlow Alstonโ€™s story.

The Pittsburgh Titans have got to completely rebuild this team. The original players all died when the teamโ€™s plane crashed. Stoneโ€™s younger brother was on the plane that crashed.

Stone was sent back to the minor league after he had a shoulder injury. And he thought that he would never make his way back into the major league. Only he didnโ€™t want to make it back the way it happened.

Harlow is an attorney and was best friends with Stoneโ€™s brother Brookโ€™s and now she was asked in a letter if she would be his trustee of his estate and to have to deal with Brookโ€™s family.

Stone is an a-hole. I am not sure I could forgive him. But he is grieving so he should be forgiven. Brookโ€™s and Stoneโ€™s father is a horrible and despicable human being. No wonder their family is so dysfunctional!

I loved reading Stoneโ€™s story. Harlow handles herself so well! Now thatโ€™s a strong woman! I loved her too and she is perfect for Stone! I canโ€™t wait to read Gageโ€™s story! Of course this is a 5 STAR read! Loved it!
