England is bleeding.
And there isn’t a thing I can do about it.
I am once again a prisoner to Wessex, captured by King Egbert because holding me hostage will bring them to him—my two Vikings who will risk heaven and earth to save me.
But I don’t need saving.
I am Princess Emeline, and I was taught by the best, and his name…Skarth the Godless.
The man whom I love more than anything in this world.
But things begin to blur when Ulf the Bloody reminds me of the promise I made, and that promise is that I belong to him.
We must work together to overthrow King Egbert, but the war I fight within my heart is far more dangerous than anything I will ever face on the battlefield.
The choice is not simple because we all must make sacrifices. But I soon realize that all is not fair in love and war.
Lives will be lost.
Hearts will be broken.
And come dawn, life as we know it will be changed forevermore.

Fall of the Stars by Monica James
Tanya’s rating: 5 of 5 stars
Fall of the Stars is the second book in the In Love and War Series
Wow! What a story! Princess Emeline is a Saxon and Ulf & Skarth are Vikings. She has gone through so much. She is a STRONG woman. Skarth taught her how to fight and she is bloodthirsty and doesn’t shy away from a skirmish or even War!
I love reading historical romances! This book is loosely based on history. I love that Monica James said in her author’s note that
“if you are looking for a history lesson, this book is not for you”
Monica James doesn’t shy away from blood shed and gore so if you have triggers do proceed with caution.
I have mixed feelings about the ending. I think that it could have only ended the way it did and there was an HEA but not the one I wanted. Fall of the Stars is still a wow book! I couldn’t do anything else but read and I pretty much read this book in one go! Loved it and I really look forward to seeing what else Monica James has up her sleeve! 5+ STARs
