Before I left, I asked to see Merrick. I needed to know why I was even in consideration after our disastrous start.

Turned out, Merrick only wanted to hire me because I was the least competent candidate. It seemed his board was making him fill the position, against his wishes.

I didnโt really want to work in a place where my boss expected me to fail. But I figured maybe Iโd enjoy proving him wrong. It was a little thing I dubbed the boss project.

What I wasnโt prepared for was that there would be other things Iโd enjoy doing to Merrick Crawford.

Getting involved with the boss wasnโt the smartest choice.

But you know what they say about choices: Some we regret, some we are proud of. I just had no idea where this one was going to land.

The Boss Project by Vi Keeland is another hilarious hit. Evie is trying to get her life back together after she discovers the night of her wedding, her soon be husband slept with her bestfriend/ maid of honor. Getting revenge at the reception of the wedding ( yes she married him) she not only makes a speak but proceeds to play the video of them having sex. Now jobless and homeless, she is looking for employment while living with her sister and he husband. After several negative interviews she finds herself at an interview with the man that just saw her in her bra sniffing her pit while unbeknownst to her in the male changing room. Thinking this can’t get any worse he informs her she in not only not qualified for the job but he hates the ideal of having to hire anyone. Merrick is highly successful owner of a stock trading firm. Due to being sued by former employees, the board deems a therapist is need to help the employees. Merrick after discovering what Evie did thanks to YouTube decides to offer her the job. I laughed till I thought I would pee my pants. This story was also full of betrayal and heartbreak. Merrick too has been hurt and as his story unfolds I was left clutching the pearls.ย Seeing these two people trying to overcome their reservations and hurt made for a fabulous story.ย Read it in one sitting.ย Also the grandmother is off the chain.ย Loved it. Another 5 star read from this author.

Merrick and Evieโs past traumas are very similar but I loved seeing how different they responded to it. I enjoyed the few twists in the book and I did figure one out very quickly. (Of course I didnโt know until the end, shame on you Vi!! Lol) I love Merrickโs grandmother, she is so much fun. I feel like I repeat myself every time I read one of Vi Keelandโs books. Itโs a must read. I read it in one sitting because I would not put it down. I always always always enjoy reading her books and this book is no different. I definitely recommend this book to everyone.
