When Sinner’s Fall is the first book in the House of Skin series. You can read this book as a standalone however, why would you? This is a great start to this series. Actually Darker Shades was a great start and made it where I just had to read this book!

This is Dante Cortez and Wren Campbell’s story. This book is full of triggers for those that have triggers. It is pretty darn- (tamed down for Amazon) dark.

The only thing I would wish for in the book is more follow up on the couple in Darker Shades, Jackson and Naja’s story. There are 4 brothers in this book, Elias, Dante (dragon), Abel and Knox (Poe).

I suppose #0.5 was Elias’ story too. If you love dark reads then I highly recommend When Sinners Fall. But pick up #0.5 book Darker Shades first! 5+ Stars

When Sinners Fall (House of Skin Book 1) by Charlotte E Hart I have to say that I had read Darker Shades first which is a prequel novella that introduces the Cortez Brothers. Needless to say that story was something else and by the end of the book I had no love for the brothers. This book is the story of Dragon aka Dante Cortez. Now back in the family hometown to lay his brother to rest and to formulate a plan for revenge, Dante to the family is a man on the edge. While he is back he runs into Wren. Dante has an instant pull to Wren and has made it his mission to keep an eye on her. Wren is back home after living in Seattle as a successful bridal consultant. Lured back home by a prestigious firm, she sees Dante on the street. They had a special relationship in high school. She always marched to the beat of a different drum and she did what she could to be there for Dante. During a bizarre encounter they reestablish their relationship but with a very kinky twist. All I can say is I love Dante but I still don’t care for Dragon. I know they are one person but Dragon is a ruthless, heartless and hard core killer. Dragon loves the family business and what he does for the family. For me Dragon is a tough pill to swallow. However Dante is a tortured soul who just wants to be loved and Wren may just be up for the love he needs. I enjoyed Dante and Wren. 4 stars for me.
