Theresa’s Review:
Meet Alexander King, business mogul and asshole—titles he’s worked very hard for, and both well-deserved. He takes no prisoners in his professional or personal ventures, and everything is done on his terms. Alexander is used to getting what he wants, when he wants it.
Apparently, Margo Buchanan didn’t get that memo. Margo is the daughter of a businessman Alexander is working with, and has come to work for him as his assistant—so it seems. She has her own reputation for being tough, and she has no problem putting her boss in his place.
I really enjoyed the back and forth between Alexander and Margo. The obvious attraction between these two is smokin’ hot, but neither is willing to admit it—to each other or themselves. This first book gives you a peek into their history and how they come to be. Two very smart, shrewd, headstrong individuals, who just may have met their match in the other.
Michelle does a good job of creating secondary characters, and you will adore Mr. Yamada. Alexander’s outrageously flashy business associate, and close friend. He speaks in the third person, knows Alexander very well, and understands why he is the man Margo can’t seem to stand.
The story ends in a cliffhanger, but not surprising considering this is a three-part series. Michelle packed a lot of story in a short book, yet the story flows quite nicely. The right amount of heat, humor, and a great story. I’m really looking forward to the next installment.
