Tanya Rae’s Review 4.5 ★★★★.5
Wow I just finished reading incapable by Sara Hubbard and wow is all that I can say right now. I really enjoyed this book and had to read 300 pages in one sitting! I couldn’t put this book down. I just knew that I needed to find out how it was going to end. This is a standalone book and no I can’t tell you how it ended that would be a spoiler and I don’t do spoilers. But, I did love the book!
This story was about Declan a bad boy due to circumstances in his life and Evie not anything really good out of her life either. She took care of her mother for 4 years while she was dying and Evie’s mother and Evie weren’t very close for reasons that are disclosed if you read this book (again no spoilers here). I guess you just need to read this story. I received this ARC for an honest review and I give it 4.5 stars.
Lita Thomas’s Review: 4.5 ★★★★.5
Incapable by Sara Hubbard tells the story of a young lady who walks into a pub one rainy day. She has no money and no job. Evie has had a hard life, she is new in town and just so happens to walk in a pub where the owner takes a liking to her and gives her a job. Declan hangs out in the pub and Evie has caught his eye. Instructed by Mona to make sure Evie got home safe, Declan sees then place she lives and nightly sits outside her apartment. One night a terrible incident happens to land Evie in the hospital and throws her and Declan together. Declan as well has had a hard life and now lives a very violent life. He has had to do what he can to survive. He a very angry man.Somehow Evie has been able to chip away at the anger Declan has used as a coat of armor. The interaction between Evie and Declan makes a really good story. What comes out regarding the life Evie has lived is a true testament as to how strong she is and what a truly good person she is as well.
The story also has a cast of characters that are quite entertaining especially Mona. Really enjoyed this story and had a smile on my face at the end. I give this book 4 ½ O’s
Shannon Pacsuta’s Review: 3.5 ★★★.5
Evie is a girl down on her luck just looking for a break. Then she meets Declan. You would think that her luck would change, right? Well, it does…just not necessarily for the better at times. You see, Declan is a “fixer” for the local mafia and also has ties to Mona, Evie’s boss. And sometimes, you can get yourself into trouble by just hanging around the wrong people.
Sara Hubbard did a good job of creating characters that were likable even though they did bad things, and the storyline moved at a nice pace. She conveyed perfectly how someone who may appear weak could be one of the strongest people you’ve ever met. You never know what someone is hiding behind something as simple as a smile. I would give inCapable 3.5 stars.
