Synopsis

Natasha Carson’s life is perfect. She’s a respected novelist, the youngest fiction professor at a prestigious university, and every night she comes home to the perfect man who absolutely adores her. There’s only one problem. No one, not even her boyfriend, knows that she pens bestselling BDSM erotica in secret. And that’s exactly how she wants to keep it.
Then Adam LaRue enters Natasha’s classroom and her life, threatening everything. The gorgeous grad student isn’t just a kinky temptation – he knows her secret. And makes it clear that one way or another, he’ll have her in his bed.
As she watches her life crumble around her, Natasha must ask herself, Is it really as perfect as everyone believes?
The Professor’s Secret is an erotic tale of self-discovery and what happens when the line between fiction and reality blurs.

Tanya Rae’s Review:  4.5 Stars

This is Natasha Carson & Adam LaRue story. It took a while until Adam & Natasha get together. And, when they do there is a promise of no sex. But, Adam wants to show Natasha what it would be like if they were together. He told her he would then give up on trying to get with Natasha. Natasha is in a relationship with her live in boyfriend when Adam shows up in her classroom. I wondered how they could get together and yet have no sex.
I just had an OMG moment. I couldn’t believe I was left hanging! Wow Cliffhanger alert! I made an audible ahhhh sound like I was in pain and I was!  I couldn’t believe it ended the way it did. I just hope I don’t have to wait a long time until the next book comes out. I NEED to see what happens. I was gifted a copy of “The Professor’s Secret” for an honest review.

Natasha Carson: College professor. Layla Allen: Bestselling BDSM erotica author. These people are one in the same.Natasha has worked very hard to keep these two lives separate. No one knows she’s an erotic author, not even her boyfriend, or her best friend. She’s working for tenure at her university, and if this secret gets out, she can kiss that goodbye. Her boyfriend, Gregory is a fellow professor and well-respected, successful poetry author, and Natasha knows he wouldn’t approve of her second career. Gregory loves Natasha, and wants to spend the rest of his life making her happy. Along with keeping the erotic writing a secret, Natasha is also hiding a part of herself. Her true sexual wants and desires. One day, a new student enters her class. Adam LaRue knows Natasha’s secret, and he wants her. Natasha’s attracted to Adam, but doesn’t want to risk her teaching career, or losing Gregory. Adam seemingly sees exactly who Natasha is, and what she wants. He scares Natasha because as much as she wants Adam, she knows he can single-handedly bring her carefully structured house of cards crashing down.Natasha struggles with the person she presents to the public and the person she truly is. Honestly, she’s a combination of both. She’s happy with her teaching career, and she feels safe and content with Gregory. Adam brings out feelings in her she thought she could keep hidden and out of sight. But, the more time she spends with Adam, she wonders if teaching and living with Gregory is really enough. Adam accepts her sexual proclivities, but hot, forbidden sex isn’t enough to give up what she’s worked so hard to attain. Enjoying the spoils of being a bestselling author has its advantages, but it also comes at a price. Trying to keep up with everything and maintaining a dual persona has begun to take its toll.

It’s very easy to settle down with Gregory, and thrive in her job as a fiction writing professor, but is it fair to either of them to continue that life if she isn’t truly happy? Is she unhappy with Gregory, or just tempted by what Adam is offering? Natasha has to really look into herself to decide what is going to make her happy. Whatever she chooses, someone will be hurt—including herself.

I really enjoyed this book. I definitely felt the pain Natasha was going through. But, I also saw the happiness she felt when she took those moments and selfishly gave into what she wanted and needed.

I received this ARC for an honest review, and I give it 4 stars.

The Professor’ Secret by Katie Devoe was not what I had expected from reading the synopsis. The story was much better than I had anticipated. This was the story of Natasha. She is a professor at Hudson University. She has a secret that she is keeping from everyone in her life. Natasha is a respected professor of friction but has the alter ego of Layla Allen writer of dark erotica. Natasha does not want anyone to know who she really is. She can lose everything, her prestigious job, her important boyfriend and the respect of her family and peers. On the first day of class a graduate student is part of her class to monitor.
The first assignment she asked of the class is to free write for 15 minutes. The grad student Adam volunteers to read what he wrote and to the surprise of Natasha he reads a part of a book she wrote as her alias. After class Adam informs Natasha that he knows who she  really is and that he interested in her. However Adam awakens something in Natasha that she has only imagined but would like to explore.
Natasha is not only struggling with the life she is leading with a job she is not happy with, a relationship that is predictable and comfortable and a sexual life that is not satisfying plus the fact that she feels like she is being blackmailed by Adam.
The story was not what I expected and the ending was even better. Adam awakens something in Natasha that has her on a journey of self discovery. A very enjoyable story told while Natasha writes her next book. I give this story 4  O’s (O’s for Orgasms)
