Oh wow, wow, wow!! I mean WOW! It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to say this – I finished this book in 1 sitting, I could not put it down. Tara Oakes managed to capture me from the first sentence and take me on the First Ride with her! Molly “Angel” and Dawson ~ I was drawn to them like a moth to the flame. Dawson is the Prez of Riverdale chapter of the SLAYERS, MC, and he’s a big ole bad a$$ biker with an even bigger heart. Molly, who Dawson nicknamed Angel from the first moment he saw her, needed money badly, so badly she was willing to strip in a club. Her first night of work, she chickened out and Dawson came to the rescue, literally. Now add in a sweet little two year old named Sasha – this little girl, she warmed my heart with her “maw”.
Dawson was drawn to Molly – she was his heaven – get it, the nickname, Angel? 😉
Molly has more financial issues than anyone could imagine, but her motto? “I’ll figure it out” – stubborn girl that Dawson HAS to help.
My favorite line of the entire book and I don’t know what it was exactly about this wording but I laughed and swooned all at the same time.
““Ready.” She bites my lower lip. Hard”
“Alrighty then.”
“Let’s f*cking do this.”
I’ve just became the biggest Tara Oakes fan – her writing, her style – just WOW!
This book does leave you on a cliffhanger – but a good one – one that makes you want February 2016 to be here tomorrow! I CANNOT wait until the next book! Hurry, Tara, please!!

First Ride (The Slayer MC, #1) by Tara Oakes is the first book in the Slayer series and focuses on the club president. We are first introduced to the MC club in The Kingsmens series. Dawson McCade is the Slayer’s president. He is rough and tough and his life revolves around the club, the brothers and the club family. That is his life until one night at the club when a prospect lets him know the manager of the strippers is hitting one of the girls. She is not a regular and nothing like the girls who work at the club. Molly is totally out of her element thinking she can dance as a stripper but she is desperate for the money. Once Dawson lays eyes on Molly he names her Angel because that is what she is to him. He feels he needs to help her even though it is not him. Molly is used to having to take care of others and has a hard time accepting help from Dawson. Their relationship is full of sexual tension and emotional fireworks. I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. Not much work got done today. I was given an ARC for an honest review. I give this book 5 stars.

This is Dawson McCade and Molly Donovan’s story… If you love MC books then this one is for you! I know that Tara said something about Dark at times. But, I didn’t feel that. Of course I really love Dark books so maybe I shouldn’t be the one telling you that. I loved Dawson’s & Molly’s story and hope to read more of them with future books in this series.
Oh there is a cliffie alert and Tara said that Hard Ride will be due out in February. I of course am hoping for sooner. I received a complimentary copy of First Ride for an honest review and I give First Ride 5 stars.
