Sophia is a art major student in college. She had to paint two nude bodies as an assignment for class. The models arrive and in walks Ashton King. Someone who helped torment her during high school years. As much as she hates him her body responds to his sight. Needing money Sophia takes on a second job by being an assistant. After accepting the job Sophia realizes that she’s Ashton’s grandmother.
Ashton King is sexy and knows it. He can get any woman he wants. Ashton knows that Sophia has feelings for him even if she denies it. Ashton is not the same guy from high school and tries to prove that to Sophia.
I enjoyed reading this book so much that I read it in one sitting. I felt bad for Sophia because what she went thru in high school. Only to have feelings for the guy that helped made school hell. I felt how torn she was between loving him and wanting to hate him. As much as Ashton was full of himself I would see glimpses of the real him. The only reason why I didn’t give a higher rating was because of the back and forth. Sophia would be all over Ashton but then push him away. I was getting whiplash from her. I would still recommend this book to others because it is a good read.
✺Nikki’s Review: 4 Stars✺
Sitting in her art class, Sophie is faced with a demon from her past. When Ashton Saunders in Sophie is shocked not just to see the stunning man before her, but that her body still reacts to the man that tormented her all through high school. Not wanting to give in to her feelings of lust for Ashton, she does everything in her power to avoid his attention. Unbeknownst to her, this is not the last time their paths will cross.
Ashton has always been attracted to Sophie, but back in high school his attention was cast on another. No matter how he tried to avoid his feelings, Sophie was the one that got under his skin. Years later when the opportunity to insert himself into her life arises, Ashton jumps in full throttle. His plan to draw her out and lead her to him is risky, but it’s a risk he’s willing to take to finally get the girl that stole his heart the first time she walked into class all those years ago. Will his plan help her to see the man he has become and let their past turmoil be forgotten, or will it blow up in his face?
Truth or Dare is a quick read, and easy to get drawn in to. The story is full of little twists that made md want to keep turning the page to see what happens next. As the story unfolded I found myself drawn to Sophie and wanting to see her open up to the possibility of a relationship with Ahston. I became enamored with Ashton, his cocky attitude on barely masking his true feelings for Sophie. The sexual tension between Sophie and Ashton increases with each page making the heat rise a notch with each new chapter.
Aimee McNeal has written a good book full of angst and desire. I really like the interaction between the two characters and seeing where the story would take them. While my preferred genre is erotica, I found this story sexy and worth the read. If you enjoy a a hard won love story, then yeah, this book will fill the bill. I rate Truth or Dare 4 stars.
