Ryleigh Phillips is the owner of Licked โ€“ an ice creamery โ€“ that is a tad bit naughty and definitely for adults. Her creative names for sundaes make you giggle. She has worked her butt off to make the โ€œcreameryโ€ what is it โ€“ a huge success. She says she doesnโ€™t have time for love, until she goes to her high school reunion and sees her crush from high school. Letโ€™s admit it โ€“ she only went to see him.ย  Seeing Cameron ( literally seeing him) makes her feel she can everythingโ€“ both a career and love.

Cue in Hunter, her contractor โ€“ she is expanding Licked and adding an After Dark Licked. She meets Hunter at a very odd moment and instantly feels attracted to him. Who will she choose? The safe bet โ€“ Cameron? Or the hot contractor โ€“ Hunter? You will need to read this adorable book to find out.ย  This book will make you smile, giggle, and maybe shed a tear or two โ€“ but those tears are worth every second of this book.

Ryleigh is so adorable with her eclectic ways, sassy attitude and retro style. Her friends make up a big part of the book and quite honestly, I want to be her friend and eat her Magnum bowls!ย  This book is yumminess all the way around.

โ€œAnd then?โ€

I tugged at the edge of my apron in an attempt to avoid the three pairs of eyes staring bug-eyed at me. โ€œAnd then he walked me to my car.โ€

โ€œAnd then youโ€ฆ?โ€ Shayne asked.

โ€œWent home,โ€ I said.

โ€œWait a minute, can we talk about the fact that he made you sleep on his couch?โ€ Paigeโ€™s eyebrows were raised up to practically her hairline. โ€œIโ€™m sorry, but in what fucking universe is that acceptable? Why didnโ€™t you call Quinn to pick you up?โ€

โ€œHe didnโ€™t make me, geez. He passed out and it was late, and I thought maybeโ€ฆyou know. Morning sex.โ€

Shayne cocked an eyebrow. โ€œAnd did that happen?โ€

โ€œWell, no. Hunter made me coffee, and then Cameron woke up andโ€ฆthatโ€™s it.โ€

โ€œWait,โ€ Quinn interrupted. โ€œYou slept in an apartment with two guys and both of them had you sleeping on the couch? Jesus, Ryleigh, itโ€™s against man-code for that to happen. Did you wear a chastity belt last night or something?โ€

I groaned, my head falling into my hands. Of course the girls would give me a hard time. Iโ€™d been talking up tackling Cameron at the reunion for weeks, so my body wasnโ€™t the only one feeling let down.

Still, I was seriously regretting inviting them over for a powwow at my shop during our off hours.

โ€œI think I need another shot of vodka in my Feisty Ho-bag now.โ€ Paige pushed her glass stemware toward me, and I grabbed a liquor bottle from behind the bar and tipped some into her glass.

Boozy shakes. They were the bread and butter of Licked during the brunch and evening hours, and the main reason for the expansion next door. I glanced at the black tarp hanging over the doorway that led to the space Iโ€™d bought a few months ago and sighed. Construction was running behind, and it was too late to hire another company if I wanted to keep the launch date set.

And I had to keep the date set.

โ€œSo are you seeing him again?โ€ Shayne asked, dunking her cherry through the layers of baklava bits and whipped cream on top of her Nibble My Nuts shake. โ€œI will totally get involved if I need to.โ€

No doubt sheโ€™d be successful. She basically ran one of the top matchmaking companies in the city, not that youโ€™d know it from her degrading pay scale. Her boss was a fucking nightmare, but Shayne was convinced she had to pay her dues.

โ€œI donโ€™t need your expert skills this time, but thank you. Heโ€™s got my number, soโ€ฆweโ€™ll see.โ€

โ€œYou canโ€™t just wait around for a guy to call,โ€ she said.

โ€œIโ€™m not waiting. Iโ€™ve got all thatโ€โ€”I gestured to the ugly tarp that hid the mess behind itโ€”โ€œto deal with, so Iโ€™m actually quite busy at the moment.โ€

The three of them gave each other โ€œthe look.โ€ You know, the one that said, Weโ€™ve got to help our poor little friend get laid so she doesnโ€™t end up gorging on the ice cream and boozy shakes she makes and be relegated to spinsterhood.

โ€œGuys,โ€ I said, placing my hands on the counter as I stood in front of them. โ€œIโ€™m not on my way to spinsterhood. I just have priorities.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m sure you could squeeze Cameron Mathis in,โ€ Quinn said with a wink. โ€œGet it? Squeeze him inโ€ฆโ€

โ€œMore like blow off the dust, grab a key, unlock that shit, and pray there are no bats,โ€ Paige agreed.

Oh for fuckโ€™s sake. โ€œAll right, no more booze for either of you.โ€
