White Lie by Peggy Dabney is the story of Kree an exceptional beauty who has two different men who are smitten with her. Tommy has been in love with Kree since childhood and Vincent a charismatic Underboss of a mighty mafia family in Chicago. Tommy is in town working undercover at the Mafioso restaurant as bartender but really works for the government trying to build a case against the mafia. Kree is torn between two men. Vincent is someone she has recently met and he sets her body on fire but Tommy she has wanted as long as she can remember. She struggle to decide who she wants to be with. Vincent doesn’t do relationships but there is something about Kree that occupies a lot of his time. He also knows because of his job and the fact he will always put the family first he can’t fall for her. Unfortunately the attraction between the 2 is explosive. A set of events weaves the basis for this well told story that I couldn’t get enough of. I truly liked this story and by the end I was like “cheese and crackers.” I do not want to give away too much but can you say Twilight Zone. All I could say was WOW when I read the last sentence of this story. Kudos for a well told story. I have to give this story 5 stars. I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Peggy Dabney lives in west-central Illinois with her family and rescue dog Fletcher. Besides being an avid reader, she loves football and motorcycle riding. From a very young age Peggy noticed that there are stories everywhere, and from all walks of life.
