The world told us no, but we couldn’t stay away from one another, couldn’t deny that we were drawn together. He was so beautiful—so beautiful rugged. I was going to make him mine.

In college all Evanna wanted was a future as a journalist living with Jake, the man she loves. When Jake asked her to move to Pennsylvania with him she thought her dreams were coming true. Little did she know that in moving to small town PA she’d find her dreams had morphed into something she never could have imagined.

Gideon is the sexy, dutiful, eldest son of farmers. He has always lived his life in accordance with his parents wishes. That is until he crossed paths with Evanna, the beautiful and feisty librarian. She made him see life in a new way, made him want more. Showed him what a life in the world would be like with her at his side.

This book really had me from the very beginning. Gideon is a kind and smart man willing to give everything to the woman he loves. What woman doesn’t go weak in the knees for a man like that? Evanna sees past their differences and looks into his soul. Together the pair plowed their way into my heart. When hardships struck, I felt their pain. In their moments of tenderness my heart swelled with theirs. And in the end I smiled with them.

Beautiful Rugged is not my preferred genre, usually I am drawn more towards the erotic stories. This is not erotica by any stretch of the imagination, however, it is a fantastic love story.

Sara V. Zook wrote a powerful story of love conquers and she did it beautifully. If you have the heart of a romantic and enjoy a good book with an HEA, I urge you to one-click Beautiful Rugged.

I happily rate this book 4.5 stars and will most assuredly read more of Sara V. Zook’s work in the future.
