Tanya Rae’s Review: 5 stars First off I was so excited to be able to read Plaything. I mean 2 of my favorite authors writing a genre that I love! Who wouldn’t be excited, right? This series is going to be great!
This is the first book in Plaything series. It is a short book and can be read in under 2 hours. And, I zoomed through this book because I loved it and couldn’t put it down! Plaything ends with a cliffhanger and I hope that we won’t have to wait a long time until the 2nd book comes out in this series!
My only complaint is why couldn’t this book be longer! As for complaints I would say that is fairly mild!
Plaything was gifted to me for an honest review and I give this book 5 stars. Now if you could just make this book a little longer Jade West and Jason Luke…. Please!

Plaything (Volume 1) by Jade West and Jason Luke. This a very interesting story of a young lady who has somehow found herself in the life of a sexual slave. She is having a hard time adjusting to her place in life and is constantly combative which is causing her to be punished. He is a member of a wealthy family that deals in the slave trade which he has nothing to do with or his family. Unfortunately he has been lured back to the family and the life at the request of his father which is a request he cannot refuse. If he cannot get her to submit and behave then they both will be paying a price neither one wants. A short read that lays the foundation for the next book. I have read both authors previously and am looking forward to where they are taking this story. There are twists and turns and forces that they both will have to work with and against to get what they both want which just maybe to make it out of this alive. Enjoyed the story and I am very curious as to what will happen in the next book. I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review. I give this story 4 stars.

When I learned that Jason and Jade were teaming up to write a book, I was beyond exited. Totally against my norm, I fell in love w/Jade’s Dirty Bad series, and Interview with a Master started my mad crush on Jason.
Again, going outside my erotica box, we find that Amy has been sold into slavery to the highest bidder. Amy seems to have an attitude problem, and refuses to submit to anyone. Not exactly a sought-after trait for a sex slave.
Robert has gone against the family business and has attained his own wealth. Turns out his father and brother need his help to “prepare” Amy for her new owner. Knowing Robert won’t want to help his father willingly, he puts a halt to a very important deal for Robert in exchange for his assistance with Amy. Begrudgingly, Robert agrees.
When Amy and Robert meet, there is something between them. They both equally despise his father. Gentler than his father and brother, Robert has a different approach with Amy, and she responds positively. Surprisingly, Amy is having an effect on Robert, as well. As the book ends, their training has hit a snag. Well done, Jason and Jade.
Plaything is the product of two wonderful writers I adore. I found myself wondering who wrote which parts, and I could see a true collaboration. This story was enough to whet my appetite for more, and I hope I don’t have to wait too long for Volume 2.

This was my first book from Jade West and Jason Luke, and boy, oh boy, did I pick a good one!! My ONLY complaint was the book was too short – I wanted, needed more!! You can read this short story within an hour or two and trust me when I say you will not be able to put it down.
I don’t want to write my typical review summary because the “teaser” summary gives enough away. This is not what you’d expect, even from reading the tease. Amy – she’s the one being sold, is awesome – I love her and her spirit! Robert – wow, he’s amazing. You will fall in love with him from the minute he opens his mouth.
You are left on a cliffhanger – to be honest, I didn’t see it coming – I was expecting a cliffy but just not that. Things that make you go hmmmmmm…. Where will the second installment take us? And much more importantly WHEN WILL IT BE OUT?

Robert tried to stay away from the family business, but his father managed to find a way to pull him back in. How you ask? By using threats and blackmail of course.
Amy just wants to get away from her captures. The only hope she has is Robert, but can she trust him? Will he help her regain her freedom or at the very least learn to deal with the men she will be turned over to?
Those are the questions I’m left with. While the story was slow to build, it does get quite interesting and a bit steamy. However, the cliffhanger came far to soon. I can see a great story building, and I hope that the next installment comes quickly. But the feeling of “wait, what… It’s over” is not what I was expecting.
I am a fan of both Jason Luke and Jade West, and was really looking forward to this book. The collaboration of their writing in this book is a great match. For me though, I was not overly impressed with the finished product. I admit I’m having a hard time rating this book because of my cliff hangover. I do see promise for future installments, but I can only rate this book 3.5 stars.
