Hopeless Vows by Rachael Duncan
Tanya Rae’s Review: 5 of 5 stars
I loved the concept of this book. That professionals put Austin and Jillian together. I really loved reading this book even though Rachael Duncan you drove me crazy with not knowing what secrets Jillian was hiding from Austin. No I can’t tell what the secret was but I finally found out 68% into Helpless Vows. I couldn’t believe what Janey did to her especially after knowing Jillian’s history. Again, I can’t say more.
I loved the ending as well. So I guess that means that I loved the beginning, the middle and the ending of this book. At one point I had tears in my eyes reading Jillian’s story. Also, Austin’s story has some heartbreaking moments. This book does tug on those emotional heart strings. Meaning I was fully invested in the reading of Hopeless Vows.
I received a complimentary copy of Hopeless Vows and I give it 4.5 STARS and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Hopeless Vow by Rachael Duncan is a story that is part of the 21st century reality TV. Jillian is a young lady that has a hard life which has left her closed off and an emotional introvert. Her parents are dead and her grandmother raised her. She wants love and a husband and now she has her chance. There is this reality show where two people who have never met will marry based on the recommendation of a set of doctors based on interviews they participated in. During her interview she is not completely honest with the doctors but she was picked as a contestant regardless. On her wedding day as she is walking down the aisle to her groom who she is meeting for the first time something happens to cause her to pause for a minute but as her contract states she has to go through with the marriage and the other terms of the contract. Austin has decided to participate in this reality show and has decided to give the process his all. When he sees his bride on his wedding day he is pleased with what he sees. I liked this story a lot. Even though I had an ideal what her secret was I was curious as to how the author would play this out. She did a very good job. This was my first time reading this author and I look forward to reading other books by her. I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review. I give this book 4 stars.

The longer this experiment goes on, the more I fall for him, and the more the deceit eats at me. When I lie awake some nights, it crawls up my body, tickling my skin, reminding me that underneath, I’m a horrible human being.
Deceitful.
Cowardly.
Manipulative.
Selfish.
All negative adjectives, and all describe me.
He’ll never find out, taunts an inner voice. What’s worse is that it also tells me it’s okay to keep this from him. That the two of us can live out this fantasy unscathed and content. As delusional as my inner voice is, I find myself clinging to it like a leech, feasting on the lie.
