Synopsis

The Red Market is where every pound of flesh has a price tag tacked onto it. It is a place where money can buy you everything, even a heart.

Caesar has fallen and a new boss, Mateo, has risen; but he has lost his Lettie Doll and he doesn’t know where to find her. She stole his soul and now he must find someone to replace her. Just like her love, his new power is an illusion. The real force behind the Red Market is about to show her cards and no one wants to play her game.

Mateo and Lettie will both have to fight to find their love, but sometimes it is only found in death. You cannot go through life unnoticed by demise when you play with it every day. Sooner or later, it catches up with you and you lose.

Tanya Rae’s rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh boy I think I have been warned and now I am a little scared to read this book. I wonder how I will feel at the end of this book. Oh well here goes! OMG really? I just got to another page at the beginning of this book with a “Congratulations! If you’re reading this, you probably made it through the first book. One word. Beware.”

I barely got through the first book! My legs are shaking with trepidation. Okay, I am starting this book. Enough with the warnings!

Now I know why I was filled with trepidation! This book is even darker than the first book. I thought I loved dark but, maybe this is too dark. The subject matter is very hard to read. I think the book is well written but, I kept asking why? I am sure there are sick individuals out there and I hope I never meet them.

I want to know who is the insane one. Me, the authors or you, the reader?

Before you start to read this book read the warning!!!! I can’t stress that enough. This book is tough even for a self-professed dark lover.

The Goodbye Girl was given to me as a complimentary copy and I was going to give The Goodbye Girl 3.5 stars because this book is even darker than what I thought I loved. I started thinking why is it that I am giving this book only 3.5 stars when these authors accomplished exactly what I think they wanted to accomplish. So does that mean that this book is a winner. I think so. So I am changing my rating to 5 stars. This blogger will chicken out and won’t read the next book if there is one. Now I need to go read something that is lighthearted.

Lita T’s Review: 4 STARS

The Goodbye Girl (Red Market, #2) by Mary Palmerin picks up with Svetlana/ Lettie Doll being chained to the wall lying naked in her own filth by a man who she doesn’t know who want something from her that she cannot do or give. She is hoping Mateo will come and save her. Meanwhile Mateo is losing what little grip on reality he has. He thinks his Lettie Doll has left him and he is angry with her. In this story we are introduced to some new people and reacquainted with old friends. The author really explains a lot to the reader as to how and why the Red Market came into existence but also give insight on the cast of characters. I do have to say that there was a serious dose of crazy going around. There was enough crazy for everyone. Some were trying to hold on to their tenuous hold on their sanity and some lost the battle. I do have to say that Svetlana is one tough cookie. I guess her upbringing is what helped her survive the hell she endured at the hands of the guy who kidnapped her and if anyone should have went to crazy town it should have been her. This story was good and once again the dark and twisted had me cringing at times but I was able to press on to the end. Some scenes were truly darker than others and some scenes the crazy train had taken over and took some people to places that were really really scary and disturbed. I was given an ARC for an honest review. I give this story 4 stars.

The Goodbye Girl by Mary E Palmerin & Ashleigh Giannoccaro
*ARC received for honest review*

(Before starting)
I am nervous and excited about this book. I loved the Goodbye Man! I am team Cesar but maybe Mateo will redeem himself in this book. Wish me luck..

(After)
I enjoyed reading this book. I expected something darker but the storyline was still intriguing. I cannot not say much without telling s spoiler. This book picks up where one ended, Lettie is gone, Caesar is gone and Mateo is in charge. I’ve always been a fan of caesar and in this book I started to feel a little for Mateo. We learn more about the ever silent Hugo and his place in the Red Market. It was very interteaing to read about the maker of Red Market and their roll in everything and everyone. This book was well written together by two amazing authors. There was one part in the book, my jaw dropped. I did not see that coming and I loved it as much as I cringed while reading it. The ending was n unexpected, but I still like it in the end. I would reccomend this book to taboo lovers.

TGG - teaser 2

I am unreasonable. I used to be the quiet girl who listened and took what she thought she deserved, but as the pieces of time come back together like a painful puzzle, I am shriveling down to nothing except the splinters of love and psychosis of my mind. I am totally unhinged, yet through this cacophony of chaos, I am strangely finding myself.

Dysfunctional empires were made to fall.

I am Caesar. Broken and conflicted. I am a man who gives false goodness to those who crave it. I provide solace to the ones who beg to be saved, giving them the goodbyes they want. But, my quiet little world is about to be shattered by the whispers from heaven and hell.

I am Mateo. Unlovable and unworthy. I am the boy everyone runs from. I keep love close to me in little jars of perfection, reminding me of a thousand goodbyes I never had to say, because I left them before they could leave me.

I am Svetlana. Dirty and Used. Birthed into brutality while still trying to comprehend my version of normal. I am an injured lamb, eaten by filthy wolves day after day. Just as salvation seems like it’s within reach, a goodbye from this awful world is all that I wish for.
