Theresa M’s 5 STAR Review:
Allegra is looking over her shoulder all the time. That’s what happens when you enter the government’s witness protection program for testifying against her husband—someone most people would be too afraid to even contemplate it. She fell in love with the wrong man, when she found out who he really was, there was no way she could stay with him. She doesn’t regret what she’s done, but there are times when she feels she might be better off if she’s found by the Mafia and she can stop running.
But, to her surprise, Allegra has someone in her corner. They don’t meet under ideal circumstances, but Eric, an FBI undercover agent is there just when she really needs help. There are definitely some sparks between them, but who has time for that when your life is on the line?
I really enjoyed this story. There are some intense scenes in this book, and Rachael doesn’t shy away from graphic violence. I thought it was well done, and fit perfectly in this story.
Rachael has great way of making a short story feel anything but that. There was so much going on, but none of it felt rushed or incomplete. It felt more like a leisurely read on the beach in a chaise.
I was gifted an ARC for an honest review, and I give it 5 stars.

Witness by Rachael Orman
Tanya Rae’s rating: 5 of 5 stars
Witness is a Novella only about 63 pages per Amazon. Allegra was married to a Mafia psychopath that frequently threatened her life. Eric was FBI and this is Allegra’s & Eric’s story. Witness is short and well I was going to say sweet but, it really wasn’t. After all Allegra was married to a psychopath. This book is pretty hot!
I enjoyed this story and I really hope there will be more to it. Because I want to read more about Allegra’s & Eric’s story.
Witness was a complimentary gift for an honest review and I give this very short story 5 stars and I hope there is more to come.
Witness Excerpt
There was a tiny chance he’d forgotten about me and wasn’t looking for me anymore. However, I wouldn’t hold my breath. Men like him didn’t just forget, not
when it was their wife. Not when it had been the woman who’d been in their life for seven years that testified about a murder they’d witnessed them commit,
which ended up in them getting a life sentence. He’d never be getting out of jail, but that didn’t mean that he didn’t still have contacts on the outside
that would seek out his revenge.
I shivered at the thought and decided that I was too tired to make such an important decision. Pulling out of my spot, I drove to my apartment. The laundry
and grocery shopping I normally got done would just have to wait. After a little nap, I could tackle those tasks and think things through some more.
I parked in my normal spot, retrieved my bag from the backseat and slid my gun into the back of my pants. As I climbed out, I was surprised to see Sheriff
Aaron slowly driving by.
“Hi there,” he said with a wave.
I nodded at him and turned away; I wasn’t in the mood to deal with him. After locking the front door and putting the quilt and chair in place, I dropped
the bag and kicked off my shoes. All I wanted was to get to my bed and pass out for a few hours.
However, all thoughts of sleep fled my brain when I noticed the window in my room was open and the curtain was blowing in the slight breeze.
“Don’t scream,” Eric’s deep voice spoke softly right next to my ear as a thick arm wrapped around my waist and a hand slid over my mouth.
