Bed of Lies Volume 1 by Niquel When I read the synopsis for this book I was really excited to read it. I have a thing for dark and twisted stories. Whitney is your typical teenager. She doesn’t live in the best neighborhood. She and her twin brother live with their young single mother. Whitney’s mother tries to do the best she can but when you have twins when you are only a teenager your mothering skills are not the best. Whitney and her mother do not have the best relationship and Whitney’s lack of caring makes for many of fights. One day as Whitney is supposed to be going to school but is skipping as usual she ends up getting adducted. Linc has lived the sex trafficking life all his life. You see he inherited the family business from his father and after being trained in the life he is rather ruthless. Now he wants some children to leave as his legacy and he has been watching this girl for some time now. This is Whitney and Linc’s story. This was my first time reading this author and the story was what I like in a story such as this. The ending was definitely not what I had expected and since this is volume 1 I can only assume there will be a 2. I do look forward to the next installment so I can see where the author will take this story. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. I give this book 3.5 stars
