Nat’s words came back and haunted me like a bad haircut from the eighties. An irrational need to check the goods took over me. It wasn’t like he minded. According to the rumors, his dick had seen more cameras than Kendall Jenner. Slowly—so painfully slowly—my eyes drifted down his sinewy body. I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Whatever I had in mind, though, didn’t come close to the real thing. Thick, long but not atrocious. With thin veins running through its length.
“Nice view?” he groaned, tucking his junk back into his briefs. His profile was glorious. Strong jaw, pouty lips, eyes like sex…
My eyes snapped up when I realized he was talking to me. “I wasn’t…”
“Looking? Yes, you were. Next time take a picture. It lasts longer.” He rolled his zipper upward and flushed the toilet with the toe of his boot. He turned around and squirted soap into his palm, washing his hands almost violently—rubbing between each finger and scratching his knuckles like he wanted to shed his own skin. When he was done, he looked around for a towel.
I cleared my throat, scrambling to regain my wits. “Longer than the glimpse or longer than your performance?”
Casually—so unbearably casually—he wiped his wet hands over my purple dress. I gasped, moving sideways. It looked like he was about to open the door and get out, but before I had the chance to yell at him for using me as a human towel, he slammed me against the wall, bracing both his arms above my head and pinning me to my spot. I let out a shriek of surprise at the sudden proximity.
Alex Winslow is touching me. Willingly, my surprisingly pitiful brain squealed.
Heat rolled off his body, making my back arch and my breath catch in my throat.
“Let’s make one thing clear—I could fuck you to a point of numbness without even breaking a sweat if I wanted to. Now, careful, New Girl. If you don’t keep your distance from me, I think I just might.”

Midnight Blue by L.J. Shen tell the story of Alex Winslow a very talented artist who has now become a jaded and resentful Alcoholic and drug addict. The only publicity he receives now is due to his bad behavior and his last album which was a dud. His agent, trying to savage his career send him on a tour with a babysitter. Indigo Bellamy is a strange young lady who has blue hair, makes her own dresses and her mode of transportation is a bike she received at 14. This job of babysitting one of the hottest rock stars of the time is not what she had in mind but the money it pays will help her family live a better quality of life. After her parents were killed 4 years ago and her brother had to give up a full scholarship to college with the prospect of the NFL to raise her, things have been hard. Now her, her brother, his wife and child live in a 1 bedroom apt. Initially I liked the banter between Alex and Indie as she liked to be called. Both are hurt and damaged, one more than the other. They have to survive a 3 month tour which is difficult when all Alex wants is to get in Indie’s panties and get high. Indie really needs the money and will do her best not to fall into bed with Alex even though her body wants him. I really enjoyed this story and the more a reminisce about the story the more I love it. There was also a plot twist or two that took this story to the next level. This story started with to people at odds with each other but morphed into so much more. Each teaching the other something. This is my second book I have read by this author and she is fast becoming a favorite. I give this story 5 stars.

Alex Winslow is a musician who’s spiraling out of control. Addicted to drugs, alcohol, and women. Still upset that has ex fiance was sudduced by his former best friend, Alex does not care about anything except his addictions. Indie’s life is not what she expected it to be. Twenty-one years old, struggling and living with her brother and his family. Desperate to help Indie apply for a a job that requires her to watch over a rockstar and keep him clean while on tour. Upon meeting Alex, Indie declares he’s a jerk. Tension is thick as the tour continues and Alex realizes with Indie he can write music again. Guards starts to lower and lines are crossed, but sometimes the past just has a way of messing up a great thing. Can Alex overcome his addiction or will he continued to spiral out of control and take everyone with him?

What can I say about this book? First anf foremost I could not put it down. I was hooked from beginning to end. Alex needs to get his acts together and needs Indie to babysit him. I loved the banter between Indie and Alex. It wasn’t a “omg! You’re a rockstar and I love you.” I felt the tension between the two and slowed watched walls break. I love a book that has a surprise twist that I didn’t see coming, and this book had one. I would most definitely recommend this book to others. I am looking forward to reading more books from this author.
