βWeβre both grown-ups, Landon. Any fantasies, or desires, we might have can be controlled, yes?βUnlikely at the moment with the way she keeps coming back at me so succinctly. I’m about ready to bend her over something and teach her some manners. βAnd if you think Iβd put my career and reputation at risk because of a fling, youβre very much mistaken.β
βA fling?β
βYes. Were you thinking it was something else?β
βNo, butββ
βActually, what we did didnβt even count as a fling. More like a lesson in stress relief, at least for me. Not really that memorable at all.β She gets up, running her hands down her skirt to straighten it out in such a way that suggests anything but professional. βThank you, by the way. For the β¦relief. You walked away before there was any time for pleasantries. Or anything more.β
She chuckles and begins to turn, making me look directly at an arse I havenβt yet slapped.
βAre you suggesting Iβm not capable of more?β
Her head swings back, eyes focused on mine. βYouβre the one saying it wonβt happen again. Or have I got that wrong?β
We stare, both of us knowing exactly whatβs about to happen if I donβt, as she says, control my desires. It seems I donβt feel much like controlling them at all, as proved by me getting up and rounding my desk.
βLock the door.β
βMr Broderick, I believe that would be a policy infringement.β
“Alright. You choose then. Lock it, or leave. The offer of investigating my capabilities wonβt be on the table any longer than this room if you choose the latter.β

The Lawyer ( The Broderick Saga book 2) by Charlotte E Hart and Rachel De Lune is the eldest siblings story. I can start by telling you I did not like Landon at all from book 1. The only reason I read this book was because I felt cheated out of a real resolution to the relationship with his baby sister Persephone and the family’s sworn enemy Scott Foxton. I also wanted to know if the authors were going to redeem Landon and make me like him. I am happy to report that all my concerns and fears were addressed and satisfied. I loved this story. I got my resolution and additional tidbits about the happy couple that made me happy. Have to admit I was worried if those two would make it. Now to Landon. Yes he is a brooding bitter and unscrupulous guy but some where along this story he turned me around. His journey was entertaining as well as suspenseful. It was touch and go there and I didn’t know which way it would have went. You see his new PA has caught his eye as well as his dirty little secret he indulges in during stressful times. Neither is marriage material and he has a duty to his overbearing father. Just an entertaining story that had me from the beginning to the end. And of course we got a snippet of which sibling the next book is going to be about. Should be rather interesting. As a freelance journalist Ivy is a woman of the world. I give this book 4.5 stars.

The Lawyer is the second book in The Broderick Saga. While I liked The Muse, book 1. I loved The Lawyer, this story. This is Landon Broderick and Willow Etheringtonβs story.
Willow is Landonβs new PA and she has a secret life. One that if Landon puts two and two together. And, he will. He may or may not be happy about the secret. A very enjoyable story and one that I didnβt want to put down.
The next 2 books will be about Landonβs sisters as well as book 1 was.
There are going to be 4 books in this series.
