It all started with an unexpected phone call.

Two years after my fiancé passed away in an accident, his father died suddenly, leaving Brad’s adult, special-needs brother with no one to care for him.

The next thing I knew, I was on a cross-country drive to New Hampshire where I’d be moving in to look after Scottie until I could get him into a group home.

We hated each other. But we both loved Scottie, so neither of us budged.

Now we were living together in a tiny house—with one available bedroom. Thank goodness it was only temporary.

Over time, I realized the broody jerk I thought I knew was different than I’d imagined.

I found myself slowly growing attached to someone I once considered the enemy…and growing attracted to him.

Sure, both of us were guilt-ridden over Brad. We were also two grown people with pent-up frustration toward one another—stuck in a cabin in the woods.

But this was Josh.

Lita’s Book Review: 5 STARS

I Could Never by Penelope Ward. Carly goes to New Hampshire to take care of her dead fiance’s Autistic brother. What she didn’t expect was Josh to also show up to take care of Scotty as well. Yes, Josh was her fiance’s best friend and grew up with Scotty. Her relationship with Josh has always been rocky. As a matter of fact, Carly thinks Josh was a bad influence on her fiancé. Josh is a known womanizer who only cares about himself. Now, both Carly and Josh decided neither one is leaving, so they both would take care of Scotty in his family home, which is a small 2 bedroom cabin in the woods. This situation was a recipe for a very entertaining story that had me laughing hysterically. This author never disappoints. I love reading her stories. It is never about the sex which by the way is always hot but it is more about the journey of two different people who for some reason are thrown together and them getting from point A to point B. Scotty because of his special needs is the star of this story. I definitely need another book so I can read more about Scotty. I don’t want to give anything away regarding the story. So just sit back and enjoy the journey. Disclaimer: Be careful not to drink anything while reading this book because I don’t want you to choke or to spit the drink out into someone face due to laughing so hard. Of course, another 5 star read. I wish I could give this story more stars.
