As time went on though, I started to notice things about Fox other than his glares. Like how he watched me when he thought I wasnโt looking, or how fire ignited in his eyes whenever we bickered. Though I was in Laurel Lake to escape my problems, not create new ones. And getting involved with a man like Fox screamed trouble, even if he was gorgeous and unlike any man Iโd ever met.

But alas, problem seemed to be my middle name this year. So why not have some fun while I was here for the summer? It seemed like a good plan. At least until it was time to go homeโฆ

What Happens At The Lake by Vi Keeland is a story of Josie who has decided to go to Laurel Lake. One because it is her dad’s hometown. Two, it was voted Friendliest town several years in a row. Three, she has a rental property she needs to check on, and finally, after discovering her fiance having an affair, Josie needs a break. Upon arrival, she ends up having a mishap after mishap with her sexy neighbor. Fox is also an original resident of Laurel Hill who lives a secluded life after something devastating happens to him. However, their interaction made for a good story. Another hit from this author. I laughed, I cried, I screamed, and I might have shed a tear or two. As the relationship between Josie and Fox develops, they each have issues that can and will keep them apart. Another 5 star read for me. Loved this story from the beginning to the end.

What Happens at the Lake is a standalone and is Josie Preston and Fox Cassidyโs story.
Mr Grumpy actually turns out he really is a nice guy. Maybe a little mixed up. You can also tell that this is a small town and Fox gets so exasperated with all the gossip going on and believe me Fox gets gossiped about all the time.
I thought it was a bit ironic that his first name is Fox but he is also a great looking โFoxโ. Josie made a great first impression (not) by running over Foxโs mailbox when she was moving into the very rundown home next door to Fox.
Vi Keeland wrote a cute, well written and sexy standalone romance with a great HEA!
What I love about reading this authorโs books is that I love knowing that I will enjoy her books. I have not been disappointed ever.
