Text Appeal by Kylie Scott is the quirky story about Riley Cooper.ย She is a romance writer who decides to move into a beach community. However, when she receives a text message from someone who was texting the previous phone number owner, her life gets flipped upside-down. While she is trying to explain she just got the number, the person sending the text assumes she is her boyfriend’s new girlfriend. Now Riley is the town villain for coming in between Connor and Ava. The two just so happened to be Prom King and queen in high school and have been on and off for years. Connor changed his number because he is tired of the back and forth with Ava. He loves his hometown life, and Ava is a traveler. She keeps breezing in and out of his life, and he has had enough. Connor and Riley come up with a convoluted story of love at first sight. They do have physical attraction to each other. However, them falling instantly is a real stretch. Regardless of the ridiculous premise to the story, I loved the characters. The grandmother and her friends are a real hoot. They are a comical bunch. Ava is something else, and she needs to put her feet up on someone’s couch. Riley and Connor are just as crazy. In spite of it all, I was truly entertained by this story and had quite the laughs. I give this story 4 stars. This story kept my attention from the beginning to the end.
