Lita’s Book Review: 4 Stars

Unleashed (Bratva Kings #1) by Jane Henry can be read as a stand-alone but is, in fact, part of the Wicked Vows Series. If you haven’t read it, please do. These books are about brothers of the Bratva of The Cove. They do have one sister, the youngest, Polina. This is her story. Due to circumstances in The Cove, Polina and her mom end up going back to their home land, Russia. There Polina is mistakenly taken by a Bratva head due to her resemblance to his run away Bride. Rafail was supposed to marry Anissa, but she left him at the altar. Now he is mad, he needed this marriage but now he has to come up with a plan. When he sees her on the streets of Moscow, he chases after her, which results in her getting hit by a car. Polina, out for a run, finds herself being chased by a man calling her by a name, which isn’t hers. When trying to get away, Polina inadvertently runs out into traffic where she is hit by a car. When she comes too, she finds herself in a strange place and is called by a name that isn’t hers. This was such a good story, and the ending was even better. Polina can’t figure out why this guy is calling her Anissa. Rafail has Anissa, but due to her accident, she has amnesia. This was an additional twist to this story. Rafail is a tough guy, but there is something about this woman who is changing his tough exterior into something softer and sweeter. Polina tries to navigate her new existence. No memory of her life, her name, and this man who calls her his wife. Oh, so good. When all is revealed, what happens at the end is marvelous. I’m so glad this is the start of a new series. Loved the characters and what their stories will be. 4 stars for me.
