Blood Mosaic: A Vampire Fantasy Novel (The Firebird and the Wolf Book 1) by Elizabeth Hunter. This was my first time reading this author, and from the synopsis of the book, I was truly looking forward to reading this story. I was not disappointed. Tatyana is a young bookkeeper who has returned home to care for her mother. When her boss leaves her high and dry, Tatyana sets out to get her 6 months back pay. What Tatyana ends up walking into changes her life forever. She has entered the world of vampires. When she went to the home office of her missing boss, she discovered not only was she set up by set boss but that boss was a vampire. And now the handsome and charismatic Oleg, who is the top boss, is also a vampire. Tatyana had initially gone to Oleg to get her back pay, but now she has signed up to help get back the money she unknowingly helped her boss embezzle. As Tatyana and Oleg spend time together, the attraction is definitely there. This was a great way to start off this series. The sexual tension between a human and a vampire. The vampire wants the human more than he wants to want her. The cat and mouse of getting the money back. The capture of embezzler. There is so much going on. There are some unexpected twists and turns that have me salivating for the next book. 4.5 stars for me. Oh, so much going on.
