Sleeping with the NFL quarterback who the media has dubbed Mr. Perfect might not have been the smartest move, but I’m in the City of Love, I’d had a few drinks, and was jacked up on giddy girl talk and hopeful hearts—two things I never buy into—and I threw caution to the wind.
I want to sneak out before he wakes up, but when I open my eyes, he’s already up.

Playing Mr Perfect: Clay Braden (The Braden # 36, The Bradens at Ridgeport #1) by Melissa Foster. After losing the playoff game, Clay, aka Mr. Perfect, as his football fans like to call him, goes to Paris to forget about his troubles. While there, he will get to see Pepper Montgomery, someone he has been pursuing for a while with no luck. Pepper has finally taken a break from her high stress life as a research scientist to see two of her famous musical siblings perform in Paris. Pepper has had a thing for Clay. However, his profession and nickname won’t let her pursue anything with him. This is the first book I have read from this author in a very long time. I really missed her storytelling of falling into love. She writes, falling in love like no other author I have read. It is that hometown, sweet, gentle love. I definitely missed a couple of the siblings’ stories. I will have to catch up. Clay and Pepper’s story was fabulous. After Clay convinces Pepper to stay an additional day in Paris, he knows she is the one. His pursuit of her made for a good read. He is swoon worthy. Each had their own issues, and seeing them navigate them as they worked on a relationship made for a 5 star read. Boy! I have missed this author’s stories. I have some catching up to do.
