My Dark Fairytale (My Dark Mafia Romance #1) by Giana Darling tells the story of Guinevere. I usually do not start a review this way. However, this story was something else.ย Either I was not paying attention, or I just forgot, but this was book 1 of 2.ย The ending had me ready to say some very bad words. I was floored that I now have to wait for the next book. This was 5 stars for me. Growing up, Guinevere was extremely ill. Now a graduate with a MBA, she has saved for years to go on her dream trip to Italy for 6 weeks. FYI, her father would have a coronary if he knew she was going on this trip. On her first day in Italy, she finds herself stranded by the side of a deserted road.ย Next, she finds herself running through the countryside from a rapist and finally ends up running onto a road where she is hit by a car. Guinevere knows she was explicitly warned by her dad about Italy. However, his warning only fueled her curiosity, and now the icing on the cake is the gentleman who hit here is Raffaele, Capo of the Camorra sect. Guinevere and Raffaele are captivated by each other.ย Each ended up doing things they had never thought they would do. Raffaele has the looks of a Greek god and the body as well.ย He is cold and ruthless, but with Guinevere, he is so much more. Guinevere went to Italy to discover her independence as well as try and discover her father’s Italian roots. Never did she think she would end up starting her trip the way she did, only to end up being spoiled and pampered by a suave Italian god. As well as discover a really nice group of people. Hey! What is wrong with a 6-week Italian fling!ย Nothing until your fairytale turns into a nightmare, and the person you see as your prince charming ends up being a ruthless, murdering mobster. How can Guinevere reconcile herself with who Raffaele really is or will she. I won’t know until book 2. Book 2 can’t get here fast enough. I have a few questions I need to answer.ย It’s a really good story that has me wanting more.
