Gold Coast Dilemma by Nana Malone. I have known of this author for years. I have met her at book signings, and this is the first book I have read of hers. Ofosua is trying to find her way. As a daughter of Ghanaian parents and living in New York, she is struggling. Never feeling like she can please her mother, Ofosua tries . Her job definitely is not something her mother is pleased with, but she has found a nice Ghanaian man to marry. When that falls apart, Ofosua does her best to hold it together. Now, she has to work with Cole, a gentleman she had met previously. She had thought there was a connection, but he ended up ghosting her. She didn’t understand, and Cole didn’t have a clue. This story was a very slow burn for me. I wasn’t sure where this author was going with this story. I didn’t know if i was going to make it. however, I am glad I hung in there. This story was more than a love story. There were some social situations that I could relate to. Ofosua’s mother was something else. This woman had my blood boiling. One of her friends was certainly questionable. However, Cole was everything. I loved him. Regardless of who his parents are and the emotional damage he endured, he was a solid person and a fabulous love interest. Yes, he had his flaws. In spite of them, he rose to the occasion. By the end of this story, my mind definitely changed how I felt about this book. 4 stars for me.
