A Fate of Ice and Lies is a story of Fae, magic, dragons, thunderbirds and hydras and so much more โฆ. This is Y. Mariaโs debut book. I love when authors create their own worlds.
I am stuck on the romantasy genre. I am devouring this genreโs books. So when this book was offered I jumped on it!
This is Elias and Theodora โTeddyโsโ story. Elias is a fae Prince and he is from a different realm and Teddy is human, or is she? Teddy is Eliasโ given mate, only she doesnโt know it. Given by the Guardians in Eliasโ world. Elias goes to save Teddy and having done so he has defied the Guardians.
Elias is now judged and punished by the Elder Guardianโs and sent to Teddyโs realm with his best friends, Brenton, George and Everly. Who are also being punished. Nalari is Eliasโ dragon guardian and will follow him into the human world.
I knew that I was going to love reading this book! I am so glad that I did. Of course it doesn’t hurt that she has written a book in one of my favorite genre’s! I still canโt believe she is a new author. Now bring on book 2!

While I wasnโt born with a pen or book in my hand, it feels as if Iโve loved to write and read since forever. Now that I live in Texas, my favorite place to do either is in front of my fireplace. When Iโm not reading or writing, you can find me hiking or exploring small towns with my husband and kids.
I love anything romance. Seriously, give me all the kissing books. But thereโs something magical about diving deep into my imagination where dragons and fae exist. So, I guess you can say Iโm in my romantasy era.
