Lita’s Book Review: 4 Stars
Bound to the Beasts (Royalverse #2) by Ari Wright is a story loosely based on the children’s fairytale:Beauty and The Beast. Yes, the story takes place in a castle. There is a pretty damsel. The hired help reminds you of the characters from the fairytale, and the father is not a very good inventor. However, the characters are kinda sorta werewolves, except they don’t actually transform. Instead of one beast, there are 3, and instead of the heroine taking her dad’s place, her dad sold her to the pack. Even though this is book 2, it is totally a stand-alone. I had not read book 1, and I was not lost at any point. However please pay attention, because there is a lot going on. Briar finds herself married to Cillian, the leader of his own pack and part of the filthy rich Blackwood family. She arrives at their home to find Dane and Rhy, who are Cillian’s best friend and half-brother. Each guy is good-looking but scary in their own rite. Briar comes to find out why Cillian actually married her and the problems their marriage brings. This story was good. Seeing her with each guy and learning their story was quite the journey. Everyone’s back story was good. This book should have been 2 books just because towards the end, it felt rushed. It is a long read. 4 stars for me.
Bound To The Beasts by Ari Wright
Tanya’s rating: 4 of 5 stars
Bound by the Beasts is the second book in the Royalverse series and itโs the first book that I have read by this author. I really meant to read the first book in this series, but I just ran out of time. So, I am going into this book blindly and yes, this book can easily be read as a complete standalone.
I suppose I need to say that this is a dark book and do know that my views could be skewed, since I really love DARK books, but I felt that this was dark because if you look at the tropes, they are dark. But it wasnโt too dark. I mean how can a dark character be described as a cinnamon roll? But that is my thought on that.
This is Briar Brynn and Cillian Blackwood, Rhys, Daneโs story. Cillian is a wolf, and Briar feels like she is the sacrificial lamb. Briarโs father sold her to Cillian and his pack. I won’t say more because No Spoilers here. I loved their story!
I will be checking out more of Ari Wrightโs books starting with going back to book one, Once Upon a Pack.
