My Dark Ever After (My Dark Mafia Romance #2) by Giana Darling picks up with Guinevere back home in the States. She is trying to find her new normal after leaving Italy and her heart with Raffaele. Unfortunately or fortunately, she is pursued by some men and is rescued by Raffaele, who then takes her back to Italy for her protection. While in Italy, she is struggling with people being after her, her feelings of still loving Raffaele while reconciling with who he really is, along with still trying to discover her father’s secret. To add more on her plate, Guinevere now is struggling with both sides of who she is as a person. At the same time, Raffaele is also struggling with his feelings. Falling for Guinevere is something new for Raffaele. He is dealing with trying to win her over after she discovered his Mafia connections. He is trying to solve who is after Guinevere, who her father really is, and finally trying to discover the mole in his organization. This story truly had me guessing. The interaction between Raffaele and Guinevere was sweet and caring. The love he had for her was unwavering. Guinevere’s journey to self-discovery was one of love, dedication, action, and true grit. I enjoyed Raffaele and Guinevere. The ending to their story took me by surprise. I definitely didn’t see the conclusion to all of their questions end the way they did. The ending took this book to the next level. 4.5 stars for me.
