This is the fifth book in the Stone Society series by Faith Gibson, and it’s the story of Nikolas and Sophia and their adventures in Egypt. Nik is the “gatekeeper” for all things related to Gargoyles, and after a visit to the library he finds his mate. Unfortunately for him, when he makes a return visit, she has taken off to Egypt to find her missing parents. Sophia is the epitome of the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover”. She is this quiet little librarian who everyone really underestimates. In reality, she is one tough chick with a lot of tricks up her sleeves, and she can take care of herself and those she loves. By the way, I loved the bus station scene at the end of the book!

The fast paced action of this storyline had me finishing this book in one sitting. I love that Faith incorporated events from the previous books so that I knew exactly what the timeline was for this adventure.

Once again, Faith Gibson has endeared yet another Gargoyle to me, and I can’t wait to read more about these characters. I give Nikolas 4 stars.
