Burdened. Beautiful. Broken.

I truly enjoy reading this book. I could not put the book down. Angel does not do relationships, she prefers casual encounters. Once the other person catches feelings she’s walking away. One night out Angel encounters something she’s never had, instant attraction that lead to an steamy rump in a closet. No words spoken, she walks away from the man who’s made her feel something she never had before. Ethan, multi millionaire, encounters a beautiful woman who intrigues him like no other. Hell bent on having her, he does everything to get her. Running into her when least expected, Ethan sees another side of her, a vulnerable side. Angel, with a past that had her believing that she’s meant to be alone, she’s afraid to let anyone in. With a passion like no other Angel and Ethan can not get enough of each other when together. But is that enough? Can Angel overcome her past and those who wants her to continue to suffer or will she finally see the truth? Ethan, with secrets of his own. Can he show Angel that he’s here for the long haul? Or will his secrets be their down fall?
For the first time in living memory, Angel Lawson feels cherished.Ethan Wilde has taught her that love is possible for all, even the sinners among us. The bonds of his love free her from the shackles of her guilt. Inch by inch, he’s slid under her skin, folding himself around her soul like a soothing blanket. His love nourishes her starving heart, and his passion fuels the scorching flames of her deepest desires, driving her to the blissful edge of sweet insanity.Brick by brick, she tears down the protective wall she’s built around her heart, and the ice inside begins to thaw.To Ethan, Angel is the sole reason he exists, the blood in his veins, the drug to his addiction. He vows to mend her, to help her confront her demons and come to terms with a buried past that continues to haunt her.But what lies beneath the surface of Ethan’s past?
Pasts left hidden to rot become dirty secrets. Secrets that can tear even the strongest love apart.
And secrets have a habit of revealing themselves when least expected…

I gave this book 4 stars.
Ethan was hiding a secret from Angel and boy was it a secret! The other shoe finally dropped and Angel was not prepared for it. I was surprised by this revelation. My heart broke for Angel.
As much as I liked book one this one was harder for me to get through. The chemistry between Ethan and Angel is electric at worst and combusting at best. But there we times I would wonder if there was more than just the physical attraction. They are still learning so much about each other and the sex is Always present. (Don’t get me wrong I love good sex in a book.) Angel who wants to fight Ethan’s demons for him yet is still afraid to face her own. It was frustrating at times. The backbone she grows disappears when faced with those that are supposed to love her the most. I’m looking forward to seeing how book 3 will play out. I would recommend this book to others. 🙂
The bonds of their love saw them through the ravaging storm to the promise of peace and the chance to breathe …Angel once believed her soul belonged to the Devil. Now she willingly gives every part of her—mind, body and soul—to the man whose love mends her a little more each day.
Ethan knows Hell is no place for an angel, especially not his Angel. He would sacrifice his soul every day of his life in order to save hers.
Fuelled by an almost obsessive desire, their need for each other ignites a passion that most couples could find destructive, but instead the flames of their possessive vigilance only seem to feed the fire of their insatiable hunger. The slaying of Ethan’s demons has made their fortress of love stronger than ever.
But Angel continues to paper over the cracks of her troubled past, running from the demons that chase her and the nightmares that plague her. When a twist of fate forces her to confront them, she finally begins to accept that her repressed memories need to be explored in order to attain the peace she craves. But in her search for Nirvana, Angel discovers far more than buried memories.
What happens when the worst nightmare you’ve ever encountered is the one you wake up in?
When the past comes face to face with the present to reveal a web of diseased secrets and lies?
And the only road you can take leads to one destination… Hell.

This book started off hard for me. It was very difficult for me to get into it. I continued to read going that it would get better. And did it ever! I am so glad that I did not stop. Angel and Ethan are working on their relationship. Continuing to love each other more and more. Things doesn’t stay perfect for long. Jealousy and insecurities shows it ugly head and their love is tested time and time again. A huge bomb is dropped and Angel finally learns the truth about her mother’s death. Will the truth break Angel or will Ethan be able to save her from herself?
As much as I wanted to give this book 5 stars the beginning made it difficult for me to give it. I felt like to was unnecessary. I kept wanting Angel to confront her family. To show her backbone and let them know that they won’t hurt her again. I felt like they got off too easy. I still enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others to read.

Thanks so much for celebrating with me x
