Title: Spring Tide

Author Tami Veldura

Released May 27, 2016
Publisher: LoveLight Press

Synopsis:

Cancer is the watercraft-branch of the privatized Zodiac Forces. If you can float a boat, you’ll find Cancer operatives on the water investigating. Whiplash and Cardinal are two soldiers off the coast of Italy, hot on the trail of an ivory smuggling gang.

Instead of ivory, they find a message in a bottle calling for help. It’s ten years old and the case is probably cold, but Whiplash knows a proper adventure when she sees one and Cardinal is along for the ride. It gets personal when the trail leads back to the very smugglers they were tracking. Both Whip and Cards are kidnapped and the woman who threw that message in a bottle: she locked Cardinal in the forward berth of the ship herself.

Was it a trap for the Zodiac women or does the lady pirate want out? Separated from her partner and supplies, it’s up to Cards to keep it together and get herself free. If it means pretending to cooperate, even pretending to fall in love, Cardinal won’t pull any punches.

Guest Reviewer: Christina from Christina’s Bookshelf        4 Stars

I gravitated to this book quickly just by the concept. The Privatized Zodiac Forces out on the water investigating and protecting. What also piqued my interest was that this story has two female main characters to start with. I admire Tami Veldura for writing the story.

Spring Tide isn’t my first F/F read but it was one of the most enjoyable stories I’ve read in a while. I really enjoy MM stories because of the banter between the characters but Tami nailed this. Spring Tide isn’t my first F/F read but it was one of the most enjoyable stories I’ve read in a while. I really enjoy MM stories because of the banter between the characters but Tami nailed this. The conversation between Whiplash and Cardinal at the beginning was perfect for two female leads and stayed that way.

After finding a message in a bottle Whiplash decides they need to go on an adventure and Cardinal follows. It’s no where close to being the adventure she had in her mind. They end up finding someone in the most unsuspected places while being held captive after their boat is taken by the smugglers they were originally looking for.

During all of this there are gun fights, admissions from a father who won’t be winning any “father of the year” awards, rescues, and sensual bouts of sex between Cardinal and her captor. Stockholm Syndrome? Or is there more behind the curtains that seems to be happening.

With Spring Tide being a short story I was worried about things being too compact with such an intense blurb; it was pretty perfect.
