Bettina’s Book Review: 5+ STARS

Honestly this will be a short and sweet review. If I could give this review 10 stars I would. If I could give it 100 stars I would. This was the perfect ending. Thalia never changed! She never broke even when most would have, she stayed strong. Santi is a man after my heart and did he steal more of it after this book! I loved everything about it. A lot of twists I did not see coming. I highly recommend this book.

Tainted Blood is the conclusion to the Corrupt Gods Duet. And, all I can say at the moment is WoW, that was a whirlwind of a book! I couldn’t wait to start reading this book. Bad Blood ended on a cliffhanger of a story. So I was chomping at the bit to read this book!

I love how these two authors brought together a series from each of them. Catherine Wiltcher wrote The Santiago Trilogy and Cora Kenborn wrote the Carrera Cartel Trilogy and from that morphed “Corrupt Gods Duet” with both the Santiago’s and Carrera’s.

Now Thalia Santiago Carrera is the pawn and it brings the Santiago’s and Carrera’s together momentarily to rescue both her and Lola Carrera, Santi’s sister.

Remember that this is a dark romance and it may have triggers for some.

What’s next for Catherine Wiltcher will be a spinoff. Rush & Ruin, Edier Grayson and Ella Santiago’s story. Due out next May, 2022. And, Bullets and Thorns by Cora Kenborn which will be RJ Harcourt & Rosalia Marchesi’s story. Coming next June, 2022. Rosalia was mentioned in Tainted Blood. Both these books will be standalones within an interconnected series and you can bet that I will be reading these books too!

Tainted Blood is a book that I could barely put down and kept my interest through the twists and turns that this book delivered! 5+ Stars in my book!

Lita’s Book Review: 4.5 Stars

Tainted Blood (Corrupt Gods Duet #2) by Cora Kenborn and Catherine Wiltcher picks up with Santi trying to collect himself after the attack. Once he discovers his wife is missing he really transforms into a beast. He will do whatever he has to find her and to make matters worse when he discovers his sister Lola is missing with Thalia, he is really beside himself. When they piece together who has them, it is a race against time to not only find them but to rescue them. Revenge is now part of what is fueling Santi. While Santi is looking for his wife and sister, Thalia is assessing her situation and she knows she needs to stay alive. She will do whatever she has to to get back home to Santi and protect Lola. This was such a good story. There were so many things going on in this story. Since book 1 the Santiagos and the Carreras have been at war for over 20 years and as more is revealed with the blackmail of Ella, the attacks on the casino, the abduction of the ladies and the secrets between Santi and Thalia we find the real cause of the war. I also wanted to know more about Sam and Lola. By the end of the book I was so looking forward for stories regarding the other characters. So much more!! I loved Thalia and Santi’s journey to a real relationship and one that wasn’t forced. There was just so much more I wanted to see of them. And when there were together the sexual tension between them could burn down Jersey and New York. 4.5 stars for me. I good conclusion to this duet.
