Ivy
I know what love is. After witnessing its devastation, Iโve shied away from it,
Until Atlas.
I never thought Iโd ignore the red flags and wave a white one.
Surrendering to Atlas in the most delectable way,
I didnโt realize heโd been playing me all along
Until I found myself at his mercy.
They say love can heal all wounds,
But what about the scars left behind?
ย
Atlas
I donโt know what love is. Iโve never been touched by its light or fallen into its depths,
Until Ivy.
When I see something I want, I take it.
And right now, all I want is her.
Each move I make is calculated and methodical,
Until I have her exactly where I want her.
By the time she realizes itโs a trap, it will be too late.
Sheโll never forgive me, and Iโll never set her free.
But I feel no guilt, nor remorse.
Not when Iโll own every inch of her; body, heart, and soul.
And not even Ivy herself will stop me.

Author note: If youโre looking for a White Knight, you might want to look elsewhere. Atlas is an Antihero in every sense of the word.
This book plays with the darker side of love such as obsession, infatuation, and the power plays made to obtain it.
ย
*Coerce is a complete standalone novel*
ย
Triggers: It goes without saying that this book contains dark elements that some readers may find uncomfortable including offensive language, graphic violence, and sexual situations. All readers should be over 18 so I donโt have to answer any awkward emails from your parents or dodge pitchforks when Iโm doing my weekly shopping.

Bettina’s Book Review:ย
Coerce
By Candace Wright

ย
Atlasโ hands are stained red with blood and heโs okay with that. Atlas is used to getting anything and anyone he sets his eyes on. So imagine his surprise when Ivy doesnโt fall to her knees when she first meets him. Ivy is barely keeping her head above water. Working two jobs to pay her bills, life still seems to throw a wrench in her plans. Broken down on the side of the road, Ivy encounters Atlas for the first time after accepting a ride home. Little did she know life would not be the same after that. Targeted by a stalker, experiencing more encounters with Atlas, Ivy is thrown out of her element. Will she be able to handle everything that happening to her or will she crumble under the pressure and fall victim to her stalker?

I gave this book 4.5 stars. Finally a book I truly enjoyed! I could not put this book down. I needed to know what was going to happen next. There were a few unexpected twists I didnโt see coming and one I did predict from the beginning. This is my first book from this author and I am looking forward to reading more.

Lita’s Book Review: 4 Stars
Coerce by Candice Wright. Atlas is a stone cold killer. Killing is his life until he meets Ivy. She is young and naive.ย Working two jobs dead end jobs, trying to keep her head above water and doing the best she can, Ivy finds herself on the side of the road being rescued.ย She is leery about getting in a stranger’s car but she ignores that feeling.ย What she has gotten herself into is this story. Atlas is just off the chain. He has a thing for Ivy that is obsessive,ย border line with a compulsive need to control every aspect of her life. To compound insult to injury Ivy has a stalker as well which rattles her but takes Atlas to another level of crazy. Ivy is highly independent due to being raised in foster care and between the stalker and Atlas she is in a constant state of frazzled. What she does know is that regardless to how restrictive and demanding Atlas maybe, she is in love with him. I really liked the characters in this book. Atlas is not only deadly but sexy as sin and extremely handsome. Ivy is living a hard life but it hasn’t left her to jaded. We are treated to a ending that was quite the twist which took this story to the next level. This story was definitely a departure from what I had read from this author. I really enjoyed her previous books and enjoy this one too. A 4 star read for me.

Coerce by Candice M. Wright
Tanya’s rating: 4 of 5 stars
Coerce is a complete standalone and is Atlas and Ivyโs story. This is a dark romance with an Age-gap trope. Atlas isnโt a nice guy; he tells Ivy he isnโt. Ivy has been on her own for some time. And, Atlas does some devious things just to have her.
I enjoyed reading Coerce but there are some definite possible triggers here. From violence to some โsexual situationsโ So beware if you decide to read this book. I however had no problem with those things and I enjoyed those twists and turns, even the obvious one!
I look forward to reading more from this author.

EXCERPT
There is a detachment between us now, a part of my heart and mind I guard from him. And Atlas fucking hates it. It brings desperation to our lovemaking, an imploring on both our parts, him for forgiveness, me for freedom. But neither of us is willing to yield to the other.
His once peaceful home has become a battlefield, a ceasefire only being called in the dark hours of the night when we can pretend beneath the veil of shadows that everythingโs okay. That weโre just husband and wife, not captive and jailer.

AUTHOR BIO
ย
Candice Wright is the international bestselling author of the Underestimated Series. Still relatively new in the business, Candice has just published her tenth full-length novel and has no plans for slowing down. Hailing from the sunny (sometimes) UK, Candice lives with her three slightly unhinged children and the long-suffering partner. When she isnโt busy raising the next generation of crazy, you can find her sitting at the computer writing words she hopes will resonate or snuggled up reading stories by the authors that cultivated her love of the written word.
