SPENCER:
When I woke to my phone ringing just after 5 am on a Sundayβmy only day offβit was safe to say I wasnβt impressed. I answered the call with an abrupt, βWhat!β The audible gasp and berating that followed had me grumbling, βSomeone better be dead, Mother.β
βAfter the relationship status you were tagged in on Facebook, no less, I very well could be,β was her reply.
Relationship status?
With who?
I immediately clicked on the app, only to find it was true.
Delilah St. James had one of those faces that was hard to forget, and I knew Iβd never laid eyes on this pretty blonde with beautiful blue eyes before.
I couldβve let my assistant, PR company, or my lawyer deal with it, but against my better judgement, I clicked on the Messenger app.
βDo I know you?β I typed.
DELILAH:
When my sister decided to post photos of herβon what was supposed to be my honeymoonβwith my ex-fiancΓ© on social media, I did something reckless and impulsive. I tagged her long-time crush, Spencer Prescott, in a fake relationship post. The last thing I expected was for him to reach out.
I apologised profusely and told him Iβd take it down immediately, briefly explaining why I had done it, and he replied with something unexpected.
βLeave it up. What can it hurt?β
Minutes later, I got a friend request from his mother β¦ immediately inviting me to brunch. I only agreed to go, so I could tell her the truth to her face.
What happened next was a domino effect that would change the course of all our lives.

Lita’s Book Review: 4.5 Stars
The Stranger by J.L Perry is a comical story about Delilah St . James, who after her fiance leaves her for her golden child, sisters to post on Facebook that she is in a relationship with her sister’s billionaire crush, Spencer. What started out as a prank snowballed into something neither Delilah or Spencer expected. I really enjoyed this story. I was in stitches laughing at Delilah and Spencer. Delilah visually is Spencer’s type. However, there is a little age gap that always seems to be the butt of many jabs by Delilah. Spencer is a really good guy so he decides to help Delilah out in her prank against her narcissistic sister, and when he sees how her parents co sign the sister despicable behavior, Spencer is really determined to help Delilah get away from those people. The journey of Spencer and Delilah keeps me interested from the beginning till the end. I laughed throughout this story, and I was thoroughly entertained. The attraction was there between these two, and it was a pleasure to see their attraction bloom. I couldn’t get enough of these two. A 4.5 star read for me.
