Penn by Sawyer Bennett
Blurb:
Penn Navarro is the best player in the league—unstoppable on the ice, untouchable off it. But the moment the game ends, so do the celebrations. Because no amount of goals, no number of wins, can silence the demons that haunt him.
Hockey is my life. It’s what I was born to do. That’s not ego talking, just fact—I’ve spent years honing my skills, earning my place among the elite. But talent doesn’t erase my mistakes, and no amount of success will make me forget the damage I’ve done. It’s why I keep my distance from my teammates, because if you never let anyone in, you’ll never get hurt. Or those are the lies that I tell myself.
Mila Brennan represents the darkest parts of my history. She’s a ghost I’ve tried to bury, the reminder of everything I’ve lost. When she shows up in Pittsburgh looking for me, I know nothing good will come of it, because our sins don’t stay forgotten. They fester, waiting for the perfect moment to strike, and Mila’s arrival means my time is up.
The past isn’t just knocking at my door—it’s kicking it down, crumbling all the walls I’ve built around myself in the process. And when the danger comes for us both, I’m forced to do the one thing I swore I never would. Let her in.

eBook/Audiobook (ALC) Review – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐️
First off, I LOVE the Pittsburg Titan series! Penn is the seventeenth book in the Pittsburg Titans series. You can read each book in this series as a standalone so jump in and start even with this book. Obviously, it would be better to start with the beginning, but it is a long series. So, I say just start wherever you would like.
This is Penn Navarro and Mila Brennan’s story. Penn is such a prickly pear, but I did warm up to him!!! Penn and Mila knew each other previously. Both Penn and Mila had been witnesses in a crime involving her brother and a few of Penn’s teammates. What a good book!
I always love it when the author brings in characters from one of their other series and in this case Jameson Force Security were Mila’s bodyguards.
I absolutely loved listening to Lucy Rivers and Sean Masters. They are the narrators for this book. Their voices are so perfect for their roles. I have listened to both Lucy and Sean before in other books that they have narrated. Their voices were perfect for this book.
It looks like there is a new player and his name is Matteo “Lucky” Branson, and his book will be “lucky” number 18. Of course, this is a⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐️ read for me.
Lita’s Book Review: 4.5 Stars
Penn (Pittsburgh Titans #17) by Sawyer Bennett. This has been a long-awaited story for me. Penn came to the team extremely moody and standoffish. The team has been speculating for some time as to what has happened that had caused Penn to be the way he is. We finally get all the questions answered. Mila has come to town because she really needs to talk to Penn. Penn doesn’t want anything thing to do with Mila. She represents a past he would rather forget. Mila is determined to get through to Penn. The past has come back to get Mila, and she thinks Penn is next. When Penn finally hears why Mila is in town, he changes his tune. Since Penn and Mila are trying to work through the past, Penn now sees Mila as a very attractive woman. He has not had these feelings in a long time. As they try and solve what is happening from their past, they also start on a relationship which neither sure of the outcome. This was such a good story. I was not disappointed. Penn’s past almost had me in tears, and it certainly explained why he is the way he is. It was also nice to see him come back to life and join the real world and his teammates. As always, the love story was a sweet journey that ended happily. The introduction of Lucky brought a silly side to the story that I truly liked. Hopefully, he will be next to get a book. 4.5 stars for me.
