Smash by Penelope WardTanya’s rating: 5 of 5 stars⭐ 5 Stars ebook/audiobook Review:
Smash is a complete standalone and tells Talia Richards’ story — and wow, Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland have done it again! This isn’t the usual type of book from these two authors, but they absolutely nailed it. The story is packed with turmoil, conflict, and emotional tension that kept me hooked from start to finish. Talia’s indecision and inner struggle made her journey feel real and raw.
Fortunately, there’s an HEA — and one that left me smiling!
💜 Tasty Wordgasms Reaction:
I should have known these two had it in them to write a great forbidden romance.
🎧 Narrators: Andi Arndt, Austin Stone, and Lee Samuels
What a fabulous job they did! Their voices pulled me right into the story and kept me completely enthralled from start to finish. Andi Arndt was the only narrator I was familiar with when I first started paying attention to who’s behind the mic — and now I’m so glad I did!
Each narrator brought their own spark and emotion, making every scene come alive. The pacing, tone, and chemistry between them were spot‑on. I’d happily have them read to me anytime!
I truly believe a narrator can make or break a book — but no worries here. This team absolutely made it. Their performance elevated the story and turned it into an unforgettable listening experience.
💜 Tasty Wordgasms Reaction:
A stellar narration that transforms great writing into pure audio magic.
Lita’s Book Review: 4 Stars
Smash by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland. Talia moved to Brooklyn for a new job and to be with her college boyfriend. Upon her arrival she sees a guy who peaks her interest. Talia comes to find out the good looking guy is Rafe. And has fate would have it, Rafe is not only her neighbor but her boyfriend Calder’s best friend. The more time Rafe and Talia spend together, the more the attraction between them grew. I can say this story was totally different than other stories I have read from these authors. In previous stories I find myself laughing throughout the story. This story was more emotionally charged than previous stories by these 2 authors. The emotional roller-coaster Talia was on made for a good story. Talia truly struggled with her feelings for Calder and Rafe. I could see why Talia struggled. Calder was all American, stable and he knew what he wanted. Rafe was carefree, artistic and saw Talia for who she was. Being in love with 2 guys took a toll on Talia and her struggle was real. This was a 4 star read for me. Her final decision was well worth the wait.
