Author: Alta Hensley
Genre: Dark Romance Standalone
Release Date: December 5, 2017

My life is one long fevered dream, balancing between being killed or killing.

The name Harley Crow is one to be feared.

I am an assassin.

A killer.

The villain.

I own it. I choose this life. Hell, I crave it. I hunger for it. The smell of
fear makes me hard and is the very reason the blood runs through my veins.

Until I meet her…

Marlowe Masters.

Her darkness matches my own.

In my twisted world of dancing along the jagged edge of the blade…

She changes everything.

No weapon can protect me from the kind of death she will ultimately deliver.

*Villains & Vodka is a dark billionaire romance. If you don’t like a splash
of shock, a dash of taboo, and a heavy dose of sex, then don’t take a sip of
this TOP SHELF cocktail.

Lita T’s Review: 4 Stars

Villains and Vodka  (Top Shelf #2) by Alta Hensley is the next story in the Top Shelf  saga. This is Harley and Marlow’s story. Harley is a trained assassin who is getting tired of the profession. He also knows the only way to retire is to be killed. What he has done is to be part owner in a very exclusive gentlemen’s club Spiked Roses. Marlow is a waitress at the club and has had her eye out on Harley since she started working at the club. All she wants is a chance to get close to him. When she finally gets her chance she jumps at spending some time with the assassin. Harley usually doesn’t partake in women from the club but this lady has caught his eye. I was looking forward to finally reading this author’s work. This was my first time reading her and I look forward to reading more about the characters of the Top Shelf series. A very enjoyable story of two people who like it a tad bit on the dark and twisted side. I am all for Dark and twisted and this story definitely fit the bill. Reading the first book is not necessary but I am curious about the other owners of the Spiked Roses. Harley and Marlow’s story has me wanting more. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and I give this story 4 stars.

Bettina A’s Review:  4 stars

Harley Crow is a known assassin. The person that everyone feared because of his reputation. Harley was ruthless and did not care about anyone or anything. Death did not scare him. Marlowe Masters isn’t your average woman. While other kids were afraid of the boogieman growing up, she wanted him under her bad and in dark corners. Marlowe wanted Harley in a bad way. She has been lusting after him for over a year. At a themed party called, Are You Afraid of the Dark at her job Marlowe finally gets noticed by the infamous assassin. Bragging that the dark does not scare her, Marlowe signs a contract with Harley for the weekend. Is Marlowe as strong as she says she is, or will Harley show her that some monsters are pretty in the light and dangerous in the dark?
Wow. This book was really good. I hate that it ended so quick. I was drawn in from the beginning and could not stop. I loved Marlowe’s character, fearless and goes after what she wants. Even if it is an sexy as sin assassin. Harley, I liked him to until close to the end. I felt so betrayed by him. My jaw dropped and I was like wth!!!! I would most definitely recommend this book to others to read. I can’t wait for the next book about them.
